Sky
Natural Ability Backed by Field Experience
German Shorthaired Pointer · Female
Registered name: Gabriels Sky
Sky is an exciting part of ALACIE’s next generation. Alongside her littermate River, she combines strong natural ability, an enthusiastic work ethic, and extensive hunting experience. Her development reflects ALACIE’s belief that time in the field is essential to building a capable hunting partner.
Sky runs hard and covers ground with purpose. She holds an outstanding point, retrieves beautifully to hand, and loves the water. Her experience includes both upland and waterfowl hunting, giving her opportunities to develop her skills across different conditions and types of work.
During a season, Sky and River can see roughly 60–70 hunting days. That consistent exposure gives Sky experience finding birds, working with handlers, and applying her natural instincts in real hunting situations.
In spring 2026, Sky earned a NAVHDA Natural Ability Prize I with a perfect score of 112 points. That result is an important milestone in her development, complementing the ability she demonstrates throughout the hunting season.
Her pedigree carries Yankee Branch influence, while her own field performance continues to shape her place at ALACIE. Her drive, pointing ability, reliable retrieves, and confidence in water are qualities ALACIE values as it looks toward future breeding plans.
NAVHDA Utility testing is planned for spring 2027 before breeding, provided her development and timing allow. Any future breeding will also depend on completing the appropriate OFA or relevant health clearances.
Sky has already given ALACIE plenty to be excited about. With continued hunting experience and further development ahead, she represents a promising combination of natural talent and practical field ability.
