About Alacie
Family. Dogs. The Outdoors. It’s what drives us.
Built in Nebraska. Proven in the Field.
Based in Ord, Nebraska, ALACIE Gundogs is a family-built operation dedicated to developing quality hunting dogs and creating memorable experiences in the field.
What started as a passion for hunting and training dogs has grown into a business offering gun dog training, boarding, German Shorthaired Pointer breeding, started and finished hunting dogs, and guided and self-guided upland hunts.
We believe a great hunting dog should be more than talented in the field. It should be a dependable companion, a pleasure to work with, and a dog you’re proud to have as part of your family.
That philosophy carries through everything we do at ALACIE.
Where It All Started
Ryan began training dogs at just twelve years old in Ord, Nebraska. His interest in dogs and bird hunting quickly developed into a passion that would shape his career.
He went on to spend three and a half years professionally guiding upland hunts in South Dakota, where he also helped manage the hunting operation. Working with different dogs, hunters, and game birds gave him practical experience in dog handling, training, customer relationships, and running a hunting business.
Those experiences laid the foundation for building ALACIE back home in Central Nebraska.
The Dog That Started It All
One dog played an especially important role in Ryan’s early hunting years.
Ben, a Beagle–Labrador mix named after Ryan’s grandfather, Benjamin Gabriel, became his hunting companion throughout high school. Together, they pursued geese, ducks, upland birds, and especially doves.
Their time in the field taught Ryan about the bond between a hunter and his dog, the patience training requires, and what makes a dependable hunting companion. Those lessons still influence how dogs are developed at ALACIE today.
A Name Rooted in Family
ALACIE represents the family behind the operation. The name was created using letters from the names of Ryan’s father, mother, and brother, Ethan.
It reflects the family connections and values that helped shape the business. As ALACIE grows, those roots remain an important part of who we are.
Real Experience. Real Hunting Dogs.
Our approach to training comes from practical experience hunting, guiding, and working dogs in the field.
We specialize in German Shorthaired Pointers, but we also work with other sporting and hunting breeds. From basic obedience and retrieving to bird work and advanced hunting development, we tailor training to each dog’s abilities, temperament, experience, and the owner’s goals.
We believe in honest communication, consistent training, and developing dogs that perform well in the field while fitting naturally into everyday life.
Breeding With Purpose
Our German Shorthaired Pointer breeding program focuses on versatile hunting dogs with natural ability, strong temperaments, trainability, and the qualities needed to succeed in the field and at home.
Our breeding decisions consider health, structure, pedigree compatibility, natural hunting ability, and real-world performance. Our standard for future breedings is to require satisfactory OFA hip, elbow, and eye clearances before breeding.
We also value evaluating our dogs through hunting experience and performance testing. Our goal is to develop dependable hunting companions and match them with the right owners.
Sharing Our Passion for Upland Hunting
Hunting is a major part of who we are.
Our guided and self-guided upland hunts in Central Nebraska provide opportunities to pursue pheasants, quail, grouse, and Hungarian partridge.
Whether it’s watching a pointing dog lock up on birds, working through Nebraska grasslands, or sharing stories after a day in the field, we believe the best parts of hunting go beyond the number of birds harvested.
We take pride in creating memorable experiences, showcasing quality dog work, and sharing our passion for the outdoors.
Building Something That Lasts
We’re continuing to develop our training and boarding facilities, expand our hunting opportunities, and strengthen our breeding and started-dog programs.
Our goal is to build ALACIE into a respected name in gun dogs and upland hunting, known for quality dogs, dependable service, honest communication, and memorable experiences.
No matter how the operation grows, we want to maintain the family values, hands-on approach, and Nebraska roots that started it all.
