Max
A Proven Partner in the Field
German Shorthaired Pointer · Male · Current Stud
Registered name: Gabriel’s Max
Max came to ALACIE from a guiding operation in Cresbard, South Dakota, and has been earning his place in the field ever since. He has guided every pheasant season he has been old enough to hunt, building the experience and consistency that make him an important part of ALACIE’s hunting team and breeding program.
His natural ability showed early. By roughly ten months old, Max was already pointing birds, retrieving, recovering downed game, and swimming. Those early strengths have developed into a versatile hunting skill set. He holds a beautiful point, tracks well, retrieves, and works confidently in water. Alongside his upland experience, he has also joined ALACIE on waterfowl hunts.
What makes Max especially valuable is the balance between his field performance and his everyday temperament. He is great in the house and good around other dogs. He can get to work when it is time to hunt, then settle into life at home—a combination ALACIE values when choosing dogs to build around.
Max and Carley have already produced a litter of nine puppies. Every puppy in that litter was naturally pointing, retrieving, and swimming by ten weeks of age. Their son King was retained as a future sire prospect, carrying forward a pairing that has shown promising natural ability.
As a current stud, Max represents the qualities ALACIE looks for in a hunting dog: practical versatility, consistent performance, and a temperament that makes him enjoyable to live and work with. His story continues through the seasons he hunts and the next generation he helps produce.
