Bo

Labrador Retriever · Male · Hunting Companion

Bo came from South Dakota and was originally purchased by Ryan’s brother, Ethan. Ryan has hunted with him extensively since high school, building a partnership through years of waterfowl and upland hunting.

Well mannered and hardworking, Bo is comfortable in a goose blind, a duck blind, or an upland field. His versatility makes him an enjoyable partner across different hunts, especially when cooler weather lets him work more comfortably.

One of Bo’s most distinctive skills is how he works alongside pointing dogs. When ALACIE’s pointers find birds and lock up, Bo honors their point and holds. Once the hunters are ready, he can be sent in to flush the birds.

That teamwork developed through hunting together. Over time, Bo learned how to fit into the group, giving the pointing dogs room to work and playing his own part when it was time to put birds in the air.

After spending so much time around German Shorthaired Pointers, Bo occasionally adds his own interpretation to the job and locks up on birds himself. It is one of the traits that makes hunting with him memorable.

Bo’s place at ALACIE comes from years of shared experience, good manners, and a willingness to work. Whether waiting in a blind or following the pointers through an upland field, he brings a familiar presence and a hunting style all his own.
